Job Description
Programme Specialist advances UN Women’s humanitarian action portfolio in Latin America and the Caribbean from Panama City. The role designs, manages and monitors gender-responsive programmes covering preparedness, response, recovery and disaster-risk reduction. It advises country offices, builds partnerships and funding proposals, and leads advocacy, knowledge products and regional coordination.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Design strategies and programmes for humanitarian action and resilience
- Coordinate implementation of humanitarian and disaster-risk-reduction initiatives
- Monitor programme results, risks and donor reporting
- Provide technical assistance and capacity development to partners
- Build strategic partnerships and develop funding proposals
- Support regional inter-agency coordination and advocacy
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree in international development, social sciences, human rights, gender or women's studies, or related field
- At least 5 years of programme or project design, implementation, monitoring or management experience including humanitarian action, crisis response or resilience programming
- Gender-responsive humanitarian programming experience
- Programme coordination with government, UN entities, civil society organizations or donors
- Fluency in English and Spanish
Desired Criteria
- Project or programme management certification
- Experience in disaster risk reduction, preparedness, recovery, displacement, climate risks, protection or peacebuilding
- Humanitarian-Development-Peace Nexus experience
- Regional or multi-country experience
- Experience in the UN system
