Job Description
Leads FAO Bangladesh’s Emergency and Resilience Unit, directing food-security analysis, emergency livelihoods assistance, disaster-risk reduction and anticipatory action. The national specialist coordinates the emergency portfolio and US Macro Grant, guides staff and partners, strengthens response capacity and ensures evidence-based, timely implementation for vulnerable farming communities.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Lead FAO’s Emergency and Resilience Unit at national level
- Provide technical leadership on food security and emergency livelihoods
- Coordinate preparedness, response, anticipatory action and early recovery strategies
- Coordinate US Macro Grant delivery against workplans, budgets and donor commitments
- Coordinate procurement, cash or voucher delivery, registration, monitoring and reporting
- Represent FAO in food-security and humanitarian coordination mechanisms
- Prepare proposals, strategic documents and donor reports
- Build the capacity of staff, government counterparts and partners
Role Requirements
- Master degree in a relevant agriculture, resilience or development field
- At least 9 years of experience in food security, emergency response, humanitarian programming or resilience
- Working knowledge of English
- Bangladeshi nationality
