Job Description
Provide leadership for emergency preparedness, response, humanitarian access and localisation across UNICEF's West and Central Africa Region. The specialist will support country offices with risk analysis, planning, coordination and advocacy; strengthen regional emergency capacity; lead emergency information and capacity-development work; and ensure principled, risk-informed humanitarian action.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Support country offices to update risk analyses, contingency plans and preparedness measures
- Provide policy and programme advice on emergency preparedness, response and operational readiness
- Lead collection and analysis of emergency information and humanitarian trends
- Coordinate emergency preparedness and response training, simulations and capacity development
- Serve as regional focal point for humanitarian access and localization
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in social sciences, public administration, law, public health, nutrition, international relations, business administration or a related discipline
- At least eight years of progressively responsible programme or project experience
- Fluency in English and French
Desired Criteria
- Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language
- Emergency-response management training
- Surge-deployment experience
- Country-level experience in fragile or humanitarian contexts
