Job Description
Leads UNICEF’s emergency preparedness and response work in Yemen, directing the planning, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of interventions that protect children, mothers and affected communities. The role coordinates government, UN, NGO and donor partners, maintains emergency information and resource tracking, and develops humanitarian appeals, reports and technical guidance.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Establish country-office emergency preparedness and response
- Develop and plan emergency interventions for children, mothers and affected communities
- Implement emergency interventions to support survival and well-being
- Monitor and evaluate emergency interventions
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in social sciences, public administration, international law, public health, nutrition, international relations, business administration or a related discipline
- Minimum five years of progressively responsible professional experience in programme or project development, planning, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and administration
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with government authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, donors and partners to coordinate responses and mobilise support
- Fluency in English and Arabic
Desired Criteria
- Specialised training or experience in emergency response management
- Knowledge of UN emergency policies, strategies and programme guidance
- Experience with programme planning, financial management, supply procedures and donor requirements in emergency operations
- Understanding of the Cluster Approach, UN Humanitarian Reform and inter-agency coordination
- Familiarity with the HAC Humanitarian Appeal
- Experience in development, fragile settings or humanitarian contexts
