Job Description

Support UNICEF's emergency response across Sudan's South Region from Kosti. The UN Volunteer provides field-level programme coordination for health, nutrition, WASH, education and child protection; contributes to needs assessments, monitoring, reporting and partner capacity building; and helps use field data, community engagement and donor updates to improve humanitarian response for children.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provide field-level technical support to partners across WASH, health, nutrition, child protection and social and behaviour change
  • Participate in needs assessments and emergency response planning
  • Assess sectoral interventions and contribute to monitoring and evaluation
  • Prepare progress reports, briefings and other documentation
  • Coordinate with UN agencies, local stakeholders, NGOs and community organisations
  • Support collection and analysis of field data for evidence-based programming
  • Contribute contextual updates to funding proposals and donor coordination meetings

Role Requirements

  • Master's degree in social sciences, international relations, social development or community development, or a first-level degree with relevant training or professional experience
  • Experience supporting humanitarian or emergency response programmes, including implementation, monitoring, reporting, assessments and partner coordination
  • Ability to work effectively in challenging multicultural environments
  • English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience working in complex or emergency settings
  • Valid national driving licence and ability to drive a manual-gear 4x4 over rough terrain
