Job Description
The Emergency Programme Officer supports UNICEF's response across Blue Nile and Sennar through planning, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of emergency interventions. The volunteer supports child-focused sectors, works with agencies, NGOs and communities, analyses field data, contributes to reporting and funding proposals, and strengthens partner capacity in the field.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Provide field-level technical support to partners delivering WASH, health, nutrition, child protection and social and behavioural change interventions
- Participate in needs and gap assessments and contribute to emergency response planning
- Assess sectoral interventions to improve outcomes for children
- Prepare periodic progress reports, briefings and other emergency documentation
- Coordinate emergency efforts with UN agencies, local stakeholders, NGOs and community organisations
- Build local-partner capacity in line with the localisation strategy
- Collect and analyse field data and present findings to stakeholders and partners
- Contribute contextual updates to funding proposals and attend donor-coordination meetings
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in social sciences, international relations, social development or community development, or a first-level university degree or equivalent with relevant training and/or professional experience
- Excellent oral and written drafting, formulation and reporting skills
- Ability to work effectively in a challenging multicultural environment
- Sound security awareness
Desired Criteria
- Valid national driver's license and demonstrated ability to drive a manual-gear 4x4 over rough terrain
