Programme Specialist, Gender, GBV and Harmful Practices

UNFPA Ethiopia seeks a UNV Programme Specialist to support its Gender and Social Norms Unit in planning, delivering and monitoring programmes on GBV, FGM, child marriage and social-norm transformation. Based in Addis Ababa, the volunteer will coordinate with government and partners, analyse programme evidence, develop knowledge products and help advance sustainable, scalable interventions.

• Support planning, implementation and follow-up for GBV and harmful-practices programmes and partner workplans
• Provide technical support for FGM, child-marriage, GBV prevention and response, and social-norm transformation interventions
• Review concept notes, workplans, terms of reference, partner agreements, budgets and implementation documents
• Coordinate with government, UN agencies, development partners, CSOs and implementing partners
• Monitor implementation, results, indicators and expenditure and analyse programme evidence
• Contribute to programme, donor and corporate reports, results frameworks and briefing materials
• Document results, lessons learned, good practices, case studies and human-interest stories
• Support assessments, evaluations, research, knowledge products, advocacy and resource-mobilization materials

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in gender equality, GBV, harmful practices, FGM, child marriage, social and gender norm transformation or related development programming
• Experience supporting programme planning, implementation, monitoring, reporting and coordination
• Knowledge of Ethiopia’s policy and institutional environment for gender equality, GBV and harmful practices
• Ability to analyse information and translate evidence into programme recommendations and technical products
• Strong written and oral communication skills in English
• Proficiency in MS Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
