Job Description

Leads UNICEF's global work on children's food practices and youth engagement within the Food Systems for Children agenda. The specialist provides strategic direction for First Foods Africa and Fix My Food, advances social and behaviour change and social marketing, and helps country offices, partners and young people transform food environments and nutrition outcomes at scale.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Lead global initiatives including First Foods Africa and Fix My Food
  • Provide technical assistance and strategic guidance to country offices
  • Develop guidance, tools and learning resources for food-practices work
  • Coordinate youth engagement and advocacy initiatives
  • Strengthen social and behaviour change for nutrition programmes
  • Support partnerships, donor engagement and resource mobilization
  • Promote knowledge generation and organizational learning

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in Social Science, Behavioural Science, Nutrition and Dietetics, Anthropology, Psychology, Sociology, Marketing or a related field
  • At least eight years of relevant national and international experience in social and behaviour change, social marketing, nutrition and food-systems programming
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language
  • PhD in a relevant discipline
  • Experience in resource mobilisation, donor stewardship or large multi-country initiatives
