Job Description
Leads development of Kenya's midwifery investment case by assessing the SRMNCAH landscape, defining priority interventions and modelling the health impact of expanding midwifery care. The consultant will develop workforce strategies, convene national stakeholders and deliver an integrated evidence base, implementation roadmap and monitoring framework to inform stronger maternal and newborn health investment decisions.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Assess Kenya's SRMNCAH and midwifery landscape, policies, systems and workforce
- Define evidence-based midwifery interventions for national scale-up scenarios
- Model health impacts using the Lives Saved Tool and related evidence
- Analyse workforce supply, demand, distribution and development options
- Facilitate workshops, interviews and consultation with government and sector stakeholders
- Lead public-health and workforce contributions to the final investment case
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in public health, midwifery, medicine, nursing or a related health field
- At least 7 years of professional experience in SRMNCAH, health systems strengthening or health workforce planning
- Demonstrated experience conducting health situation analyses and programme design in low- or middle-income countries
- Strong understanding of the Kenyan health system and midwifery models of care
- Excellent analytical, writing and communication skills in English
- English language required
Desired Criteria
- Knowledge of health impact modelling tools, particularly the Lives Saved Tool
- Experience developing investment cases
- Experience working in Kenya or the East and Southern Africa region
