Summary of Responsibilities
- Evaluate referred cases for psychiatric, cognitive and substance-related conditions
- Classify identified conditions under current clinical and CDC guidance
- Recommend follow-up and case management before and after resettlement
- Advise psychiatric treatment and stabilisation interventions
- Determine fitness to travel and any special journey support
- Prepare comprehensive clinical histories, findings and diagnostic reports
- Complete routine reports within 21 days and urgent reports sooner when requested
Role Requirements
- Medical degree with specialisation in psychiatry
- Minimum seven years of relevant professional experience
- Experience diagnosing and managing psychiatric disorders, cognitive impairments and substance-related conditions
- Fluency in English
Desired Criteria
- Professional accreditation from a recognised medical, psychological or counselling association
- Experience with multidisciplinary medical settings or vulnerable migrant and refugee populations
- Experience conducting psychiatric evaluations and fitness-to-travel assessments
- Experience training or advising medical staff
- Familiarity with DSM classification and CDC technical instructions
