Job Description

WHO seeks a Programme Management Officer in Aden to deliver strategic planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting for Yemen’s public-health programmes. The officer will coordinate results-based management and grants, support resource mobilization and fund use, analyse performance in emergencies, prepare briefs, organize meetings, improve procedures, and build capacity in results-based tools.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support country and regional-office strategic and operational planning
  • Coordinate country-office results-based management, grants and budgets
  • Support resource mobilization and appropriate use of funds
  • Monitor, analyse and report programme performance
  • Prepare briefings, proposals, reports and advocacy materials
  • Organize programme-management meetings and follow-up actions
  • Improve country-office management procedures
  • Build capacity in results-based management processes and tools

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in public health, public administration, management or administration, with relevant programme-planning or monitoring certification where needed
  • At least five years of relevant programme or project management experience in public-sector, international development or public-health programmes
  • Expert knowledge of English

Desired Criteria

  • Advanced degree in public health, public administration, management or related field
  • Experience of WHO processes and policies
  • Experience at international level
