Leads strategic coordination, governance and partnership management for UNEP's International Methane Emissions Observatory. The officer drives IMEO workplanning and risk tracking, supports donor engagement and resource mobilisation, organises Board and Advisory Council processes, and coordinates high-level government engagement to advance global methane mitigation priorities.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Coordinate IMEO Practices, Projects and cross-cutting workstreams
- Develop, consolidate and track IMEO's annual workplan, performance indicators and delivery risks
- Prepare internal strategy documents, technical roadmaps and decision-support materials for senior leadership
- Facilitate governance processes including management meetings and all-staff engagements and follow up on decisions
- Manage relationships with donors and partners and support donor engagement and resource mobilisation
- Prepare donor reports, technical briefings, concept notes and outreach materials
- Support Board and Advisory Council meetings and disseminate governance outcomes
- Coordinate high-level government engagement, international events, roundtables and bilateral meetings
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in political science, public policy or environmental policy, or a first-level university degree with two additional years of relevant experience
- At least five years of progressively responsible experience in programme or partnership coordination with governments and stakeholders from the oil and gas sector on climate-related issues
- Experience on methane emissions related to oil and gas sector emissions sources, reporting and mitigation opportunities
- Experience coordinating international partnerships or activities related to methane emissions management globally
- Experience managing complex and large global methane projects and geographically dispersed teams
- English and French at the required UN language levels
Desired Criteria
- Successful completion of degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science
- Experience working within the United Nations system or similar international organization
- Two years or more of experience in data analytics or related area
