Supports implementation, outreach and visibility for IUCN’s global forest, grassland and dryland portfolio. The associate develops communications and knowledge products, coordinates events and project activities, and strengthens engagement with governments, members, partners, donors and communities.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Advance engagement with the Rio Conventions through outreach, stakeholder dialogue and strategic coordination
  • Maintain project websites, knowledge repositories, social-media channels and project databases
  • Coordinate virtual and in-person events and webinars with internal and external partners
  • Develop briefs, infographics, presentations and social-media materials for varied audiences
  • Research and write communications assets for the Forest and Grasslands Team portfolio
  • Plan visibility and distribute materials highlighting project milestones and success stories
  • Support project coordination with country and regional teams, particularly for stakeholder engagement
  • Maintain partnerships with governments, members, country offices and project partners

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, natural resources management, forestry, conservation sciences, sustainable development, environmental policy or a related field
  • At least one year of relevant experience in conservation, science communication or project coordination
  • Ability to communicate complex scientific and technical issues through articles, blogs, reports or briefs
  • Experience with Canva, InDesign or comparable graphic-design software
  • Experience managing social media or webpages and organising in-person or virtual events
  • Proficiency in English
  • Legal authorisation to work in the United States without employer sponsorship
  • Based in Washington, D.C., or willing to relocate without relocation assistance
