Job Description
Coordinates UN-Habitat’s Vida Nova no Morro project in Niterói, supporting sustainable urban development in informal settlements. The role steers work planning, technical delivery, financial and contribution-agreement monitoring, and partner engagement with municipal, civil-society and private-sector actors to improve housing policy, local capacity and evidence-based urban development.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Coordinate project work planning and implementation in line with project documents and the Contribution Agreement
- Develop inception outputs and consolidate technical inputs into final deliverables
- Establish systems for project planning, implementation and monitoring with partners
- Monitor narrative and financial reporting deadlines, disbursements and delivery schedules
- Coordinate technical teams and consultants to deliver workplan outputs
- Maintain relationships and coordination with government, civil-society, academic and private-sector partners
- Compile monitoring data and prepare narrative progress reports
- Manage consultant contracts, recruitment, onboarding, performance feedback and team schedules
Role Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in architecture and urbanism, geography, economics, international relations, administration, public policies or a related field
- Postgraduate degree in architecture and urbanism, urban planning, geography, project management or a related field, or four additional years of relevant experience
- At least 7 years of progressively responsible professional experience in sustainable or urban development projects including project coordination in Brazil
- Computer skills using Windows, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Microsoft Teams and web search engines
- Mastery of technological tools, software and online platforms
- Knowledge of project management methodologies
- Portuguese
- English
- Brazilian nationality or a permanent visa in Brazil

- Experience with participatory planning approaches
- Experience in communication, mobilisation and stakeholder engagement strategies for urban projects
