Job Description

Supports UNDP's climate and nature portfolio in São Tomé and Príncipe by coordinating project implementation, planning, budgets, partnerships and operational processes. The programme associate monitors delivery, risks and expenditure, prepares reports, supports events and procurement, and builds capacity for climate resilience, biodiversity and sustainable-development initiatives.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Compile project information for work plans, budgets, implementation arrangements and proposals
  • Support project implementation, quality control of consultants and contractors, and compliance with UNDP operational policies
  • Coordinate project events, procurement procedures, records, recruitment and contracting activities
  • Maintain cooperation with UN agencies, government institutions, NGOs, tertiary institutions and development partners
  • Monitor project targets, risks, expenditure and commitments and prepare progress, finance and donor reports
  • Organise training, briefings and knowledge-sharing tools while disseminating data, lessons learned and best practices

Role Requirements

  • Secondary education, or a bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, environmental sciences, engineering or an equivalent field
  • Seven years of progressively responsible administrative or management experience with secondary education, or four years with a bachelor's degree
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese
  • Strong digital literacy with office software, web-based management systems, spreadsheet and database packages, and AI-enabled tools

  • Experience preparing financial reports and overviews

  • Knowledge of project management processes
  • Knowledge of procurement procedures of national or international organisations
