Field Supervisor

Supervises fieldwork for UN-Habitat’s Vida Nova no Morro project in Niterói. The local consultant manages data-collection teams and questionnaire quality, supports work in designated territories, monitors safety and data-entry performance, coordinates local activities and reports progress while maintaining professional relations with local project counterparts.

• Implement fieldwork plans and ensure quality and compliance in questionnaire application
• Support entry into new territories and closure of ongoing research
• Oversee Field Agents and manage the daily activities of the data-collection team
• Prepare periodic reports on progress, challenges and recommendations
• Monitor fieldwork safety, electronic equipment and personal protective equipment use
• Assess daily data-entry quality and questionnaire volumes and report issues affecting research progress

• Bachelor's degree in social sciences, architecture, territorial planning, engineering, geography, project management, statistics or a related field, or three additional years of relevant experience
• At least three years of experience in research, data collection or conducting interviews and questionnaires in Brazil
• Good people, communication and technological skills
• Proficiency in Portuguese
• Complete BSAFE security accreditation during the first month of employment
• Applicants must be Brazilian nationals or external candidates holding a permanent visa in Brazil

• Experience in fieldwork supervision
• Previous experience within the United Nations system
• Knowledge of Kobo data-collection applications
