Job Description
Supports UNDP Senegal's environment and climate-change portfolio by overseeing project implementation, results monitoring, partner support and compliance. The role coordinates vertical-fund projects, strengthens safeguards, risk management and quality assurance, supports environmental-project design and financing, and builds partnerships with government, donors and implementing organisations.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Monitor environment-portfolio project implementation and prepare results-focused activity reports
- Provide technical support to implementing partners for effective project delivery
- Develop project operational plans and supervise field monitoring of implementing partners
- Track project indicators, evidence, risks and mitigation measures
- Ensure financial, administrative and procurement compliance with national and UNDP procedures
- Coordinate project quality assurance, audits, spot checks and environmental safeguards
- Organise partner capacity building on financial management, procurement and results management
- Maintain partnerships with ministries, donors, private-sector partners and implementing organisations
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Environmental Management or related field, or bachelor’s degree in those fields with two additional years of experience
- At least two years of relevant experience with a master’s degree or four years with a bachelor’s degree
- Experience in project management and monitoring mechanisms, including joint inter-agency or multi-organisation projects
- Experience collaborating with Senegalese government ministries including MAERSA and MEDDTE
- Fluency in French
Desired Criteria
- Knowledge of Senegal’s development context
- Experience in environmental, natural-resource-management or climate-change work
- Experience with sustainable-development and climate-change challenges in Senegal and Africa
- Ability to maintain strategic partnerships with government, donors, civil society and the private sector
- Knowledge of UNDP management systems, rules and procedures
- Experience using office and collaborative software
