Supports UNDP Senegal's environment and climate-change portfolio by overseeing project implementation, results monitoring, partner support and compliance. The role coordinates vertical-fund projects, strengthens safeguards, risk management and quality assurance, supports environmental-project design and financing, and builds partnerships with government, donors and implementing organisations.

• Monitor environment-portfolio project implementation and prepare results-focused activity reports
• Provide technical support to implementing partners for effective project delivery
• Develop project operational plans and supervise field monitoring of implementing partners
• Track project indicators, evidence, risks and mitigation measures
• Ensure financial, administrative and procurement compliance with national and UNDP procedures
• Coordinate project quality assurance, audits, spot checks and environmental safeguards
• Organise partner capacity building on financial management, procurement and results management
• Maintain partnerships with ministries, donors, private-sector partners and implementing organisations

• Advanced university degree in Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, Environmental Management or related field, or bachelor’s degree in those fields with two additional years of experience
• At least two years of relevant experience with a master’s degree or four years with a bachelor’s degree
• Experience in project management and monitoring mechanisms, including joint inter-agency or multi-organisation projects
• Experience collaborating with Senegalese government ministries including MAERSA and MEDDTE
• Fluency in French

• Knowledge of Senegal’s development context
• Experience in environmental, natural-resource-management or climate-change work
• Experience with sustainable-development and climate-change challenges in Senegal and Africa
• Ability to maintain strategic partnerships with government, donors, civil society and the private sector
• Knowledge of UNDP management systems, rules and procedures
• Experience using office and collaborative software
