Job Description
Manages procurement strategies, tendering and contracts for CERN’s Industry, Procurement and Knowledge Transfer Department in Geneva. The officer will qualify suppliers, prepare tenders, analyse offers, negotiate contracts and develop procurement tools and represent CERN with internal and external partners to secure technical, delivery and performance requirements at balanced overall cost.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Advise CERN on procurement strategies that ensure cost efficiency and quality
- Research and qualify potential suppliers
- Prepare price enquiries, market surveys and invitations to tender
- Analyse offers and prepare adjudication proposals for CERN management
- Negotiate and follow up orders and contracts
- Modernise procurement techniques and tools
- Build relationships and represent CERN at global business events
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in economics, purchasing, law, engineering or a related field
- Experience procuring technical supplies or services and understanding source-to-contract processes and procurement systems
- Spoken and written English with commitment to learn French
- National of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State
