Job Description
Leads the Procurement Unit at UNOV, directing complex worldwide procurement and contracting for UNODC, UNOV and other UN entities. The chief provides strategic policy advice, oversees tendering, supplier selection, negotiations and contract awards, and manages the unit's staff, delegation framework and supply-chain improvements while ensuring compliance with UN rules and value-for-money.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Lead worldwide procurement of complex supplies and services
- Provide procurement-policy guidance and technical advice
- Oversee tender invitations, evaluations, contract awards and Contracts Committee submissions
- Develop procurement strategies using market research
- Supervise supplier qualification and source-selection planning
- Manage negotiations and procurement-related disputes
- Design and monitor procurement delegation-of-authority arrangements
- Manage and develop Procurement Unit staff
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in business administration, public administration, commerce, law or a related field, or first-level degree plus two additional qualifying years
- Internationally recognised procurement certification such as CIPS
- At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in procurement, contract management or administration
- Experience working in an ERP system
- English is required

- Change-management and supply-chain framework implementation experience

- Data analytics experience
