Job Description
CERN seeks an electromechanical engineer in Geneva to develop normal-conducting accelerator magnets for the Future Circular Collider. The engineer will take magnet systems from design and prototyping through industrialisation and integration, develop manufacturing and procurement strategies, coordinate maintenance and renovation work, and prepare technical specifications and engineering documentation with CERN teams and industrial partners.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Design normal-conducting magnet technologies for the Future Circular Collider
- Develop manufacturing and procurement strategies for FCC magnets
- Coordinate maintenance, repair, testing and modification of existing magnets
- Apply operational lessons to the development of FCC magnet systems
- Prepare technical specifications, reports and engineering documentation
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree, PhD or equivalent relevant experience in mechanical or electrical engineering or a related field
- Experience designing or constructing accelerator magnets or comparable complex electromechanical equipment
- Experience analysing mechanical or magnetic measurements to validate and improve designs
- Spoken and written English with commitment to learn French
- Nationality of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State
Desired Criteria
- Experience procuring magnets or comparable equipment in industry or a laboratory
