Job Description

UNICEF seeks a Planning & Monitoring Specialist to strengthen programme planning, monitoring, evidence and reporting in Patna. The Field Office focal point will support the Chief and programme teams with results-based management, research and evaluation planning, data governance and analytics, partnerships, and partner capacity building to improve evidence-informed programme decisions.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Set standards for programme performance planning, monitoring and reporting
  • Support preparation and implementation of the integrated research, monitoring and evaluation plan
  • Lead data governance, analytics and evidence advocacy for the Field Office
  • Support programme teams and the Chief of Field Office with results-based management and performance monitoring
  • Build partnerships and strengthen partner capacity in programme monitoring and evaluation
  • Promote innovation, knowledge management and learning for evidence-informed decisions

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in economics, public policy, sociology, demography, statistics or another relevant social science field
  • At least five years of professional experience in social development analysis, planning, monitoring and evaluation
  • Experience designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems for large programmes
  • Proficiency in English
  • Open to Indian nationals only

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in administrative systems, data for advocacy, AI for evidence, mixed methods or partnerships management is an asset
  • Supervisory experience is an asset
  • Country-level experience in development, fragile or humanitarian contexts is an asset
