Job Description
Develops public-financial-management stories for UNDP’s Vaka Pasifika project in Solomon Islands, making accountability and public-resource issues meaningful to Pacific audiences. The UN Volunteer gathers research, organises consultations, prepares verified case studies and articles, supports editorial revisions, and highlights experiences that connect finance decisions with community outcomes.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Review existing Vaka Pasifika materials to find lessons and story opportunities
- Build a workplan for research and production of PFM stories
- Gather data and background material to inform individual stories
- Engage government, oversight institutions, civil society and community sources
- Develop narrative angles, messaging and presentations with the project team
- Compile approved stories and supporting content for dissemination
Role Requirements
- Ability to gather information from multiple sources and produce accessible content
- Experience with interviews, consultations or stakeholder engagement
- Writing, editing and fact-checking ability for clear public narratives
Desired Criteria
- Knowledge of governance, accountability or Pacific development priorities
- Experience with Pacific Island institutions or development partners
