Leads UNDP South Africa’s country-office operations platform to deliver efficient, financially sustainable and client-focused services. The role provides operational intelligence to senior management and manages procurement, finance, ICT, human resources, administration and shared services, strengthening business performance and operational resilience.

• Ensure operational compliance with UNDP rules and internal controls
• Provide data-driven operational advice to senior management
• Lead procurement and asset-management services
• Manage finance, forecasting, cost control and financial sustainability
• Oversee ICT systems, infrastructure and disaster-recovery planning
• Lead human-resources, administration and logistics operations
• Develop common services and performance-monitoring arrangements
• Supervise and develop country-office operations staff

• Advanced university degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, Economics or a related field, or first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
• At least five years of relevant operations-management or management-advisory experience with a master’s degree, or seven years with a bachelor’s degree
• Experience leading diverse Finance, Procurement, Administration and Human Resources teams
• Experience and knowledge of accrual accounting, IPSAS or IFRS
• Fluency in English
• Fluency in the national language of the duty station for local staff

• Experience designing operational systems and internal controls
• Experience applying digital tools, analytics and automation
• Experience generating business intelligence for senior decision-making
• Experience managing operations in complex institutional environments
