National Project Officer - Climate Mobility Innovation Lab Africa

Supports CMIL Africa operations and programming on climate mobility, displacement risk and locally led adaptation, coordinating partners, grants, events, monitoring and communications across Africa.

• Support day-to-day management and implementation of CMIL Africa projects
• Coordinate planning and delivery of the Regional CMIL Climate Mobility Symposium
• Contribute to Climate Catalytic Fund rollout, grant administration and monitoring
• Liaise with IOM country offices to support implementation and reporting
• Coordinate engagement with universities, research institutions, authorities and community organisations
• Support methodology, tool and guidance development on climate mobility and displacement risk
• Draft technical reports, concept notes, donor updates and internal documentation
• Support budget monitoring and coordination with procurement, finance, HR, legal and ICT functions

• Master's degree in political or social sciences, international relations, development studies, migration studies, human rights, law or a related field with two years of relevant professional experience, or bachelor's degree with four years of relevant experience
• Experience liaising with governmental authorities, national or international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organisations
• Experience working on climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, humanitarian responses, internal displacement and migration
• Experience organising international events and workshops
• Experience in project development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
• Experience collaborating with governmental, humanitarian and development actors
• Experience working on grant management
• Fluency in English

• Prior work experience with international humanitarian organisations, non-governmental organisations or government institutions in a multicultural setting
• Ability to work independently while maintaining coordination with external partners across Africa
• Understanding of climate migration, disaster resilience or related fields
