National Officer - Transit Center ManagerNew

IOM Cameroon seeks an Officer to manage transit-centre operations in Yaounde. The role oversees accommodation, meals, medical care, movements and transport for migrants and vulnerable people; manages staff, resources and records; coordinates with government and partners; responds to incidents; supports airport activities; and reports on centre operations while safeguarding protection standards.

• Manage daily transit-centre operations including accommodation, meals, hygiene and medical services
• Supervise staff and manage resources, documentation and centre records
• Coordinate transport, arrivals, departures and support for vulnerable cases
• Liaise with government authorities, donors, beneficiaries and other stakeholders
• Respond to incidents, complaints and protection concerns and support appropriate referral
• Maintain the ITC Database and generate monthly reports
• Undertake airport activities and ensure services for people with special needs
• Prepare clear reports on transit-centre activities

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field with two years of relevant professional experience
• Master’s degree in the stated fields
• At least two years of progressively responsible experience running a transit centre or similar establishment
• At least two years of supervisory experience in tasks similar to this assignment
• Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups
• Proficiency in computer applications and Microsoft Office Applications

• Experience with specialized international agencies, including UN agencies, international organisations and international NGOs
• Good managerial judgement when handling difficult situations
