National Early Learning Consultants (ECED and Grade 1 transition)

UNICEF Nepal seeks national early-learning consultants to develop and test structured-pedagogy packages for early childhood education and Grade 1 transition. Working remotely, consultants will create activity plans, assessment tools, coaching guidance and resources for caregivers; validate approaches with stakeholders; and support inclusive, scalable early-learning services across Nepal.

• Develop structured daily activity plans for ECED and Grade 1 transition
• Create formative assessment tools and coaching guidance
• Develop school-readiness, transition and caregiver-engagement resources
• Test and refine materials using evidence and stakeholder feedback
• Support integration with government training, coaching and quality-assurance systems
• Ensure materials are inclusive, scalable, affordable and adaptable across Nepal

• Master’s degree or higher in early childhood education, education, child development, teacher education or a related field
• At least ten years of experience in early childhood education, foundational learning, curriculum development or teacher professional development
• Experience developing teaching-learning materials, teacher guidebooks or curriculum resources
• Excellent command of Nepali and English, including demonstrated Nepali writing

• Familiarity with Nepal’s education sector, ECED curriculum, ELDS and teacher-development systems
• Prior work experience with government, UNICEF or another UN organization
