Job Description

Contributes to a comparative Central African study on early childhood education, care and protection by designing methodology and data-collection tools, supporting country consultations, managing and analysing data, preparing country profiles and producing the regional report and policy brief.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Develop the study methodology, regional analytical framework, data-collection tools and detailed work plan
  • Organize country consultations and interview national focal points
  • Compile and manage databases and quality-assure information collected across Central Africa
  • Support countries in completing the EPPE-PATT assessment tool
  • Prepare country profiles and descriptive statistical analysis
  • Assess progress toward SDG target 4.2 and the Tashkent commitments and identify regional trends and disparities
  • Produce comparative tables, visualizations and preliminary-results presentations
  • Draft report chapters, technical notes and conference working documents
  • Produce the final regional early-childhood report, policy brief and PowerPoint presentation

Role Requirements

  • Master's degree in education, statistics, economics, demography, social sciences, international development or a relevant field
  • Experience in research, data analysis or programme evaluation
  • Excellent written and spoken French and good knowledge of English
  • Availability to work onsite in Kinshasa

Desired Criteria

  • At least two years of progressively responsible education-sector experience
  • Experience developing, implementing, managing or evaluating education projects and programmes
  • Experience with early childhood education and child-protection issues
  • Experience working with international organizations
  • Knowledge of capacity development and resource mobilization
