Job Description
The National Digital Health Systems Administrator maintains secure, reliable servers and platforms hosting Vanuatu Ministry of Health digital-health applications. Working with DCDT, the role administers systems, security, backups and incident recovery; coordinates technical changes and escalation; and documents performance while building operational capacity within the Digital Health Unit.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Document operating responsibilities and escalation arrangements between the Ministry of Health and DCDT
- Maintain the register of servers, applications, databases, environments, dependencies and support contacts
- Administer and monitor assigned operating systems, middleware, application services and databases
- Apply security configurations, patches and vulnerability remediation while protecting privileged access
- Verify backups, lead restoration testing and support disaster-recovery readiness
- Investigate incidents, restore delegated services and escalate shared infrastructure issues
- Manage patches, upgrades and releases through approved change-control processes
- Maintain technical documentation, monthly performance reports and mentoring for Ministry of Health staff
Role Requirements
- University degree in information technology, computer science, information systems or a related discipline
- At least five years of demonstrated experience administering production servers and supporting business-critical applications
- Fluency in English and Bislama
- Vanuatu nationals recruited in the local commuting area of the duty station
Desired Criteria
- Master's degree in information technology or a related discipline
- Experience supporting digital-health applications including DHIS2 or similar platforms
- Experience in government, shared-hosting, virtualised, cloud or data-centre environments
- Experience with ministries of health, government ICT agencies, WHO or development partners
- Familiarity with Vanuatu's public-sector and digital-health operating environment
