Job Description

Strengthens Indonesia's NFI 2.0 information-system infrastructure through practical capacity planning, monitoring, security and recoverability improvements. The specialist will support secure server and application environments, test backups and disaster recovery, document sustainable operating procedures, and transfer infrastructure knowledge to IPSDH and designated technical staff.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Assess server utilization, storage, backup arrangements, security controls and projected NFI 2.0 infrastructure needs
  • Prepare and monitor a capacity plan based on data growth, users, application requirements and system workloads
  • Configure and technically check development, testing and production environments for agreed applications
  • Monitor server, storage, database and application indicators and recommend capacity, availability and performance improvements
  • Maintain authentication, access controls, hardening, patching, logging and alerting within the agreed hosting environment
  • Implement and test backup, recovery, disaster-recovery and business-continuity procedures for critical assets
  • Prepare infrastructure documentation, administration SOPs and knowledge-transfer materials for designated staff

Role Requirements

  • University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or another relevant field
  • At least five years of professional experience in system administration, IT infrastructure management and enterprise information-system support
  • Working knowledge of English
  • Indonesian nationality or residence with a valid work permit
  • Experience supporting IPSDH or the Ministry of Forestry in forest-inventory data integration, management and analysis

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with network-attached storage or comparable storage and backup solutions is an advantage
  • Direct experience with SI-INTAN, NFI, mangrove inventory systems, Arena or Collect is highly desirable
  • Experience administering virtualization or container environments is desirable
