Digital Information Specialists

Creates an FAO roster spanning enterprise applications, information management, semantic technologies and data analytics. Specialists may build platforms and APIs, govern metadata, develop ontologies and knowledge graphs, operate AGRIS and AGROVOC, analyse datasets and deliver dashboards, standards and technical advice.

• Design and maintain digital applications, platforms, integrations and data pipelines
• Develop information-management policies, metadata standards and quality frameworks
• Create and maintain controlled vocabularies, taxonomies, ontologies and knowledge graphs
• Support AGRIS, AGROVOC and related agricultural knowledge systems
• Collect, validate and analyse data from multiple sources
• Build dashboards, reports, indicators and predictive analyses
• Administer databases, repositories and cloud infrastructure
• Prepare technical documentation, training and capacity-development materials

• Advanced university degree in a relevant field for consultant appointments, with two additional years of experience accepted for consultants holding a bachelor's degree
• University or technical qualification in a relevant field for Personal Services Agreement appointments
• At least one year of experience in information technology, information management, semantic technologies, data analytics, digital solutions or a related discipline
• Working knowledge of English
