Job Description

Leads IOM Bangladesh’s country-office ICT operations and sub-office services, ensuring systems, infrastructure and technical procurement meet organisational standards. The officer supervises ICT personnel, provides cybersecurity support, strengthens continuity and recovery planning, and works with management, partners and headquarters to deliver technology solutions for operations and emergencies.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Supervise country-office ICT-unit operations and ensure timely compliance with IOM ICT policies and strategy
  • Liaise with management and field operations to provide ICT solutions and services for operational and emergency needs
  • Represent the office with programmes, cybersecurity counterparts, government, donors, UN agencies, vendors and ICT working groups
  • Provide technical support and supervise ICT staff responding to security incidents and Tier 1 support needs
  • Prepare office ICT procedures, business-continuity plans, disaster-recovery plans and risk records
  • Assess and recommend ICT infrastructure and service improvements
  • Ensure ICT equipment and service technical specifications comply with applicable standards
  • Act as local cybersecurity focal point and incident responder while implementing security controls

Role Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Management, Information Technology or a related field with two years of relevant professional experience; or a university degree in those fields with four years of relevant professional experience
  • Experience managing Microsoft Windows and serverless LAN or WAN environments and first-level network or desktop support in a large international organisation
  • Fluency in English, oral and written

Desired Criteria

  • CCNA, Microsoft Azure, MCSA, MCDBA or MCSE certification is a distinct advantage
  • Web-based development, geographical information systems and mapping tools are a distinctive advantage
