Information Systems Officer (Chief of Unit)

The Chief of Unit leads OICT Enterprise Solutions Service systems work in Brindisi, directing major institutional software projects and digital-service strategy. The role manages teams and contracts, designs and delivers complex solutions, tracks quality and performance, advises clients, develops service-level agreements and budgets, and introduces technology improvements supporting UN operations.

• Plan and oversee unit activities and major systems projects
• Advise on strategy and implementation of policies and procedures
• Lead systems analysis, feasibility assessment, requirements and implementation planning
• Develop contractual-service cost proposals and manage technical evaluations
• Track project progress, quality measures and client requirements
• Lead, mentor and supervise officers and contract staff
• Evaluate technologies and lead technology-change initiatives
• Develop service-level agreements and support budget and work-programme planning

• Advanced degree in computer science, information systems, mathematics, statistics or a related field
• At least seven years of enterprise software-solution planning, design, development, implementation and maintenance
• At least seven years supporting software needs of complex field-based international operations
• At least seven years managing a team delivering custom ERP and CRM software solutions
• At least five years recruiting software-engineering resources
• At least five years preparing technical proposals, service-level agreements and cost estimates
• English required
