Job Description

Provides first-line operational support for UNON's network, systems, data-centre and connectivity services. The assistant monitors infrastructure and environmental alerts, identifies and triages incidents, performs initial diagnostics, coordinates escalation and restoration, maintains shift records and operational documentation, and contributes service-performance reporting and improvement.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Monitor UNON ICT infrastructure continuously through centralized monitoring platforms
  • Identify anomalies and initiate response actions for network, data-centre and environmental alerts
  • Detect, log, classify and prioritize incidents and events
  • Perform initial diagnostics and first-line resolution for infrastructure and service issues
  • Escalate incidents to technical teams, service providers or vendors and follow them through resolution
  • Maintain incident logs, handover reports, runbooks and knowledge-base materials
  • Produce reports on service availability, incidents and operational performance

Role Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ITIL Foundation certification
  • CCNA or equivalent networking certification
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in ICT operations, network support, NOC, service desk or data-centre operations; reduced by two years with a first-level university degree
  • Experience in monitoring, incident management and operational support of ICT infrastructure and services
  • English is required
  • Applicants must be recruited locally in the country or commuting distance of the office

Desired Criteria

  • Formal technical training in ICT, networking, systems or data-centre operations
  • Experience in ITIL-based operational environments
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational environment
  • Familiarity with observability, scripting, automation or system-administration tools
