Job Description
Provides information and communications technology support to the UNDSS team, maintaining security applications, hardware, software and network services. The role helps users define system needs, supports releases and infrastructure performance, and prepares technical documentation and training so security information systems operate reliably for the office.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Develop, test and implement security application systems using UN IT standards
- Liaise with users to define requirements for security-system releases, modules and functions
- Maintain functional specifications and optimise developed security-system solutions
- Install security software and hardware and monitor system performance
- Evaluate package solutions against user requirements and business needs
- Support network administration and certify software-licence compliance
- Prepare technical and user documentation, training materials and presentations
- Train software users and guide new or junior staff
Role Requirements
- Secondary education with formal training in IT systems, business software or web-based applications
- At least 5 years of relevant experience with secondary education, or 2 years with a bachelor's degree
- Relevant experience in network administration, web design, hardware or software technical support, cloud ERP environments, telecommunications facilities, database applications, web-based management systems or cloud infrastructure solutions
- Fluency in French
- Fluency in Wolof for local staff
Desired Criteria
- ITIL certification or similar
- ISO 9001 knowledge
- Cisco CCIE, CCNP or similar certification
- Experience with user-centred design and user research and testing
- Hardware and software troubleshooting proficiency
- Knowledge of operating systems, server and database management, virtualisation technologies or programming languages
