Provides mechanical engineering support for UNOPS rehabilitation of water-supply and irrigation infrastructure in Homs. The role reviews designs and tender materials, supervises installation of pumps, pipework and building services, conducts quality assurance and site inspections, and supports testing, commissioning and handover of safe, standards-compliant infrastructure to beneficiaries.

• Coordinate and supervise installation of pumps, pipework, valves and other mechanical water and irrigation systems
• Review mechanical designs for water infrastructure, boreholes, plumbing and building services
• Prepare and evaluate technical specifications, bills of quantities, cost estimates and tender documentation
• Review pump sizing, equipment selection and compatibility with civil and electrical systems
• Review contractor technical-material submittals and shop drawings
• Support testing, commissioning, training and handover of mechanical and plumbing deliverables
• Review design briefs, reports and documents against project quality requirements
• Conduct site inspections and assessments and contribute to technical reports

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with two years of relevant experience
• At least two years of mechanical, firefighting and plumbing-system design, supervision and construction experience
• At least two years of assessment, design and supervision experience in rehabilitation or construction projects
• Excellent drafting skills using AutoCAD
• High proficiency using HAP software
• Intermediate English and fluent Arabic

• Mechanical Engineering license or board certification
• International-organization or UN experience
• Experience with pumps, boreholes and water infrastructure
• Experience using G-Suite
