Job Description

The Department of Global Communications offers an unpaid, full-time marketing internship in New York. Working with the Sales and Marketing Section, the intern will research audience engagement, develop a sample campaign, create promotional content, analyse survey and sales data, support outreach planning and present recommendations to strengthen the visibility of United Nations Publications.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Research current marketing practices, audience-engagement trends and promotional approaches for United Nations Publications
  • Contribute to a sample integrated marketing campaign with messaging, channels and performance indicators
  • Prepare promotional materials and draft sample content for web, social media and other communication platforms
  • Design and analyse surveys or feedback mechanisms and summarize audience findings in a project report
  • Compile and analyse sales, marketing and audience-engagement data and prepare presentations or reports with key insights

Role Requirements

  • Be enrolled in a graduate programme, enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree, or have graduated with at least a bachelor’s degree
  • Be computer literate in standard software applications
  • Have a demonstrated interest in United Nations work and commitment to the ideals of the UN Charter
  • Have the ability to interact successfully with people from different cultural backgrounds and beliefs
  • Fluency in English is required

  • Knowledge of another official United Nations language
