Job Description

Public Information Intern supports the Human Rights and Outreach Programmes Section in New York by researching human-rights and equality issues, drafting digital and multimedia content, preparing presentations and documenting events. The internship also contributes to public lectures, exhibitions and outreach activities promoting United Nations work through clear, accessible communications.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Research human-rights, equality and anti-discrimination issues
  • Draft and edit web, news, social-media and multimedia content
  • Research and support public lectures, exhibitions and speakers
  • Prepare audiovisual deliverables and digital materials
  • Create presentations and briefing decks
  • Assist planning and delivery of outreach events

Role Requirements

  • Graduate student, final-year bachelor's student or holder of a university degree
  • Field of study in journalism, communication, media studies, filmmaking or international relations
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Writing, social-media and multimedia-production experience
