Job Description

Supports UNICEF warehouse operations in Addis Ababa by planning incoming supplies, receiving and storing goods, and maintaining accurate inventory documentation. The role coordinates with logistics and procurement teams, controls goods-receipt and dispatch records, oversees safe warehouse practices and supports vehicle loading, returns processing and supervision of ancillary warehouse labour.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Plan incoming local supplies to ensure suitable warehouse space
  • Receive local-vendor supplies and complete delivery, inspection, receipt and put-away documentation
  • Maintain accurate bin cards and reconcile inventory data with VISION
  • Store supplies according to batch lots, expiry dates and suitable put-away locations
  • File warehouse records and dispatch waybills to trace goods and supplies
  • Oversee safe third-party warehouse practices and timely facility repairs
  • Support vehicle loading and coordinate receipt and put-away of returned supplies
  • Supervise ancillary and casual labour at locally procured-supplies warehouses

Role Requirements

  • Completion of secondary education
  • At least four years of relevant experience in supply management, contracting, logistics, warehouse operations, inventory control, procurement support, distribution operations, transport coordination, records management, health and safety or emergency response
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language
  • Experience at country level in development, fragile settings or humanitarian contexts
