Job Description
WFP seeks a Logistics Assistant to run standard supply-chain processes from its Bahir Dar transit hub. The role coordinates suppliers, dispatch and transport planning, storage capacity, commodity accounting and fleet fuel records, while supporting deliveries and convoys in Amhara. It also assesses service providers and maintains accurate operational data in WFP corporate systems.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Coordinate suppliers on local purchase production and quantities ready for uplift
- Prepare dispatch arrangements with the country-office Supply Chain team
- Implement transport and loading plans for timely delivery
- Maintain storage capacity at the Bahir Dar transit hub
- Record dispatches in LESS and issue online waybills
- Track route updates and coordinate food-commodity arrivals with destination hubs
- Support WFP deliveries and convoys in the Amhara region
- Record fleet fuel transactions in FMS
Role Requirements
- Completion of secondary school education
- At least five years of progressively responsible logistics or warehousing experience in emergency operations
- Fluency in oral and written English and Amharic
Desired Criteria
- University degree in a related field
