Job Description

WHO seeks a home-based Knowledge Management Consultant to strengthen knowledge management for the Health Emergencies Programme. The consultant will standardise information products, develop and maintain knowledge repositories, create learning resources, coordinate knowledge-sharing activities, and support organisational learning and emergency preparedness across technical teams.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Standardise, develop, update and quality-assure information-management products and tools
  • Review information products, templates and reporting tools and recommend standardisation improvements
  • Develop and revise templates, standard operating procedures, reporting tools and guidance materials
  • Produce and quality-assure situation reports, bulletins, technical briefs and operational knowledge products
  • Organise knowledge resources and document repositories using metadata, tagging, archiving and version control
  • Document lessons learned, good practices, after-action reviews and operational experiences
  • Develop learning products and support knowledge-sharing and capacity-building activities

Role Requirements

  • First university degree in a relevant field including public health, epidemiology, health information management, knowledge management, health informatics, social sciences, communications, education or international development
  • Up to five years of relevant professional experience in information management, knowledge management, public health, emergency preparedness and response, organisational learning or capacity development
  • Demonstrated experience developing and managing information and knowledge products
  • Expert reading, writing and speaking English

Desired Criteria

  • Advanced university degree in a relevant field
  • Qualifications or training in knowledge management, information management, learning and development, public-health emergencies, epidemiology or monitoring and evaluation
  • Arabic at intermediate level or higher
  • Knowledge of other UN languages
