Junior Test & Measurement Engineer

Develops and maintains CERN measurement, monitoring and control applications for scientific infrastructure. The junior engineer integrates vacuum instrumentation into control systems, improves data acquisition and visualisation tools, validates and deploys operational software, and works with engineers, technicians and users on reliable automation for installations and upgrades.

• Develop and maintain LabVIEW and Python applications for vacuum-instrument monitoring and control
• Develop software used with gas analysers, pressure gauges and related vacuum equipment
• Improve tools for data acquisition, logging, analysis and visualisation
• Integrate new instruments and functionalities into CERN's control infrastructure
• Test, validate and deploy software on operational systems
• Document configurations and procedures and maintain installed applications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Software or Electrical/Electronics Engineering
• Maximum two years of professional experience since graduation in the respective field
• Nationality of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State, subject to stated country ceilings
• No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract
• Spoken and written English or French, with commitment to learn the basics of the other language
• Valid driving licence
