Job Description

Supports UNEP’s Quality Assurance Section in Nairobi to advance gender equality, disability inclusion and environmental and social safeguards across programmes. The intern will assist quality reviews, research emerging trends, analyze portal data, draft communications, prepare presentations, and coordinate workshops and partner events that strengthen inclusive programme delivery and learning.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support UN-SWAP, UNDIS and SDG poverty and inequality analysis and reporting
  • Support Concept Approval Group and Project Review Committee processes
  • Mainstream gender equality and gender-responsive approaches across programmes
  • Research and summarize gender, safeguards and environmental trends
  • Coordinate quality-assurance meetings, workshops and partner events
  • Analyze information on the Quality Assurance weCollaborate page
  • Draft impact stories and messages for UNEP digital platforms
  • Monitor Open Data Portal information and prepare draft findings reports

Role Requirements

  • Enrollment in a graduate programme, final year of a first university degree, or graduation within one year
  • Degree studies in International Affairs, Economics, Gender Studies, Human Rights, Sociology, Environmental Science, Sustainable Development or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Outlook
  • Fluency in spoken and written English

  • Interest in Leave No One Behind, vulnerable groups and intersectional inclusion
  • Canva or video-editing experience
