Job Description

This DESA internship supports communications and social-media promotion for the Division for Inclusive Social Development in New York. The intern produces platform content and campaign materials, supports communications for intergovernmental processes and observances, coordinates editorial calendars, monitors engagement, updates web content and adapts policy information for digital audiences.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Develop and disseminate social-media content for Division activities
  • Draft social-media posts, captions, key messages and promotional digital content
  • Support communications for the Second World Summit for Social Development and the Doha Political Declaration
  • Promote CSocD65, COSP20 and UNPFII communications, participation and meeting outcomes
  • Develop quotes, photos, videos, graphics, statistics and other social-media materials
  • Coordinate social-media and communications calendars and cross-promotion opportunities
  • Monitor engagement trends and update web and social-media content for accuracy and timely messaging

Role Requirements

  • Enrolment in or completion of a graduate programme
  • Enrolment in or completion of the final academic year of a bachelor's degree
  • A field of study closely related to the internship
  • Fluency in spoken and written English
  • Provide proof of eligibility for the internship programme

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of an additional official United Nations language
