Job Description

Supports UNEP's Biodiversity Finance Working Group to strengthen its strategy for mobilising and deploying public, private and blended finance for global and national biodiversity objectives. The internship combines research on nature-and-finance metrics with concise knowledge products, coordination of working-group operations and engagement with internal and external partners.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Research nature- and finance-related themes, including metrics, indicators and data
  • Monitor academic publications and turn them into digestible highlights for the working group
  • Draft targeted presentations, briefing notes and speaking points from working-group findings
  • Coordinate operations through meeting schedules, shared documentation, intranet maintenance and meeting minutes
  • Liaise with in-house and external partners as requested
  • Attend relevant UNEP meetings, trainings and conferences in Geneva

Role Requirements

  • Be enrolled in a graduate programme, in the final academic year of a first university degree, or have graduated with a university degree
  • Have a field of study closely related to the internship
  • Demonstrate research and analysis skills
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with AI tools or technologies
  • Academic or practical experience in data compilation, analysis, dissemination, visualisation or mapping of numeric analysis
