Job Description

Supports OCHA’s humanitarian response in the Democratic Republic of the Congo by coordinating information exchange, data standards and operational analysis. Across Bunia, Beni and Butembo, the role manages humanitarian data, web content, assessments and mapping, producing accessible information products that strengthen partner coordination, evidence-based planning and emergency decision-making.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate an information-management working group and promote data standards with government and humanitarian partners
  • Manage web-platform content, metadata quality and interoperability across agency, cluster and OCHA platforms
  • Design and maintain databases, spreadsheets and other humanitarian data tools
  • Analyse location-specific datasets and develop indicators for common humanitarian datasets
  • Support needs assessments, scenario definitions and rapid assessments through data-collection platforms
  • Maintain spatial baseline and operational datasets for humanitarian partners
  • Produce reports, charts, infographics and advocacy materials from operational data

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in information management, information systems, social science or a related field, or a first-level degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in information management, information systems, web management, data management, GIS and mapping, data visualisation or a related area
  • Experience developing information products under UN agency, international humanitarian organization or similar corporate branding guidelines
  • Experience using Adobe Illustrator and InDesign
  • English and French at UN Level III

Desired Criteria

  • Information-management experience in disaster response and health emergencies
  • Experience within the UN system or an international organization
  • Experience in the West and Central Africa region
