Geospatial Analysts – Satellite Imagery and GIS

Produces remote geospatial analysis for United Nations Satellite Centre operations, interpreting satellite imagery and creating maps, datasets, web services and reports for humanitarian, disaster and conflict contexts while improving workflows, quality controls and applied training resources.

• Analyse satellite imagery using remote sensing, GIS and relevant artificial-intelligence methods
• Acquire and process geospatial datasets in distributed workflows
• Produce maps, web services, datasets and analytical reports
• Conduct damage, change, land-use, infrastructure and conflict-related analysis
• Develop and document analytical workflows, tools and automation
• Quality-check outputs and integrate technical feedback
• Prepare datasets and exercises for geospatial training

• Holds a university degree in GIS, remote sensing, geography or a related field
• Has three to five years of geospatial-analysis experience
• Has experience interpreting satellite imagery and producing maps, datasets and analytical outputs
• Is fluent in English

• Humanitarian or operational geospatial experience is desirable
• Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable
