Summary of Responsibilities

  • Analyse satellite imagery using remote sensing, GIS and relevant artificial-intelligence methods
  • Acquire, process and quality-check geospatial datasets
  • Produce maps, web services, datasets and analytical reports
  • Conduct damage, change, land-use, infrastructure and conflict-related analysis
  • Develop and document analytical workflows, tools and automation
  • Support project tracking, technical reporting and knowledge products
  • Prepare datasets and exercises for geospatial training

Role Requirements

  • Holds a university degree in GIS, remote sensing, geography or a related field
  • Has three to five years of geospatial-analysis experience
  • Has experience interpreting satellite imagery and producing maps, datasets and analytical outputs
  • Is fluent in English

Desired Criteria

  • Humanitarian or operational geospatial experience is desirable
  • Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable
