Geospatial Quality Assurance, Training and Analytical Support Specialists

Provides geospatial quality assurance, analytical advice and training support for the United Nations Satellite Centre. Roster contractors review maps, datasets, web services and reports, validate satellite-analysis methods, resolve technical issues and convert operational workflows into applied learning for distributed teams.

• Review maps, datasets, web services and analytical reports for accuracy and consistency
• Assess geospatial methods, workflows and analytical techniques used by distributed teams
• Verify technical standards, data licensing, satellite-imagery use, metadata and documentation
• Identify analytical uncertainty and errors and recommend corrective measures
• Provide technical advice and validation for complex or time-sensitive humanitarian and conflict analysis
• Develop quality-control processes, distributed workflows and internal guidance
• Create remote learning modules, exercises and operational assignments with academic partners
• Support traineeships, training evaluations and scalable links between learning and analytical production

• Advanced university degree in geospatial science, remote sensing, geography, GIS, engineering, international relations or a related technical field
• At least six years of progressively responsible experience in geospatial analysis, remote sensing or GIS
• Experience conducting or reviewing geospatial analysis using satellite imagery
• Experience applying quality-assurance and quality-control processes to analytical outputs
• Experience working in distributed or remote analytical workflows
• Experience contributing to training, e-learning or applied capacity development
• Fluency in spoken and written English

• Experience in humanitarian or international operational contexts is an asset
• Knowledge of another official UN language is an asset
