Provides independent quality assurance, technical advice and training support for United Nations Satellite Centre geospatial operations, reviewing maps, datasets, web services and analytical reports, correcting methodological issues and strengthening standards, workflows and learning resources.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Review maps, datasets, web services and analytical reports for quality
- Verify compliance with geospatial, licensing, metadata and documentation standards
- Identify technical inconsistencies and recommend corrective action
- Develop quality-assurance procedures, templates and internal guidance
- Advise teams during complex or time-sensitive analytical work
- Design applied geospatial training modules, exercises and case studies
- Support traineeship assignments and collaboration with academic partners
- Develop knowledge products linking training and operational analysis
Role Requirements
- Holds an advanced university degree in geospatial science, remote sensing, geography, GIS, engineering or a related field
- Has at least six years of progressively responsible geospatial, remote-sensing or GIS experience
- Has experience applying quality-assurance processes to analytical outputs
- Has experience providing technical guidance and supporting training or mentoring
- Is fluent in written and spoken English
Desired Criteria
- Emergency-response, international-organisation or multi-actor experience is desirable
- Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable
