Job Description

Provides technical expertise and capacity-building support to UNICEF’s inclusive social-protection portfolio, concentrating on gender-responsive programming across Asia and Africa. The consultant advances systems strengthening and work on care and support, climate resilience and child-marriage prevention, translating analysis into training, technical assistance and usable resources.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise to UNICEF’s inclusive social-protection portfolio
  • Deliver capacity-building and training on gender-responsive social protection in Asia and Africa
  • Support activities on inclusive social-protection systems strengthening
  • Develop analysis, technical assistance and resources on care and support, climate resilience and child-marriage prevention

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in social sciences, international development or a closely related field
  • At least ten years of professional experience
  • Experience working in Asia and Africa
  • Availability for at least four hours overlapping Bangkok working hours
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Familiarity with UNICEF social-protection, care and gender work or equivalent UN-system or international-organization experience
  • Ability to translate complex concepts into practical recommendations and guidance
  • Ability to engage credibly with UN agencies, government counterparts and civil society
  • Ability to deliver high-quality outputs within agreed timelines
